An experience for life

Do you want to develop professional and personally?

The Academy of Physical Education in Viborg, (in Danish “Idrætshøjskolen Viborg” and short: GIV) offers you an experience for life.

GIV is hard to explain – it is a feeling. Here we will anyway try to explain as much about the school, as we can. But it will exceed your expectations.

You can become a student at GIV, if:

  • you love sport and physical activity (you don’t have to be good at any sport, or have been very physical active)
  • you are more than 18 years old
  • you can speak and understand English – the classes will take place in Danish and English, but English is second language to all
  • you will be challenged and develope yourself both personally and professionally

GIV offers a special atmosphere. We are a small academy with 80-120 students. All students live at the academy, and we have courses both fall and spring.

We have a number of scholarships for international students which are not EU or Nordic citizens.

Life at the school

The school will be the setting for leisure and daily life for you and many other students.
The other students is Danish students. Most of them are taking the course as a gab year, but some of them are preparing themselves to get admitted to the Danish Police Academy or the Danish Special Forces.

Our students are young people who love sports and who wants to develop personally. Therefore, physical activity is a regular part of everyday life for all – even outside teaching.

Another integral part of everyday life is the delicious meals giving strength to the physical activity. Our kitchen is known for making great food.

Living abroad is not just about making new friends and collecting new pictures. It is to feel that your intentions are changing, to change ideas, to put into practice, to be open minded, to accept challenges.
